Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

By using the Taksi Vaasa application, you accept these Terms of Use.

The Taksi Vaasa application allows you to order a taxi in the Vaasa area, track the vehicle’s arrival on a map, and conveniently pay for your journey in the application.

We recommend registering for the service and adding your payment card so that you can make full use of all the application’s features. Registration and ordering a taxi are free of charge.

A taxi ordered through the application is a licensed and safe taxi equipped with an officially approved and sealed taximeter and operating in accordance with Vaasan Ulataksi Oy’s current consumer price list. The driver holds a valid taxi driver’s license.

The application is provided by Vaasan Ulataksi Oy.

Address Information and Location Services

Taxi orders are based on the pick-up address provided or approved by the customer. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the address information is correct.

The GPS or mobile network-based location services used by the application are not always completely accurate. The customer must check the suggested pick-up address before confirming each order. Vaasan Ulataksi Oy is not responsible for any problems or potential damages resulting from an incorrect address.

Registration and Payment

When registering, you may save information such as:

  • name
  • telephone number
  • email address
  • payment card details

Payment card details are stored exclusively in the systems of the payment service provider (Frisbii). Vaasan Ulataksi Oy does not process or store customers’ payment card details.

We recommend completing your profile information so that the driver can easily locate you.

Journey Fare

The journey fare is determined in accordance with Vaasan Ulataksi Oy’s current consumer price list.

The customer may choose:

  • a fixed fare, or
  • a fare calculated according to the taximeter.

The journey can be paid in the vehicle after the journey has ended or in advance through the application, if a fixed-fare journey is used.

Fixed-Fare Journeys

The fixed fare includes:

  • up to 2 minutes of waiting at the pick-up address
  • transportation from the stated pick-up address to the destination address.

The fixed fare does not include additional stops, waiting time, or route deviations requested by the customer. These will be charged separately in accordance with the current price list.

If the journey has been paid for in advance, any additional charges must be paid directly to the driver.

Special Terms for Advance Bookings

Vaasa Airport: The fixed fare includes the standard waiting time in the airport arrivals hall.

Vaasa Railway Station: The fixed fare includes 2 minutes of waiting from the arrival of the train.

Wasaline Terminal: The fixed fare includes 2 minutes of waiting from the moment the first passenger exits the terminal.

For advance bookings, additional waiting time may only be charged after the pick-up time stated in the booking has passed.

Use of the Service

Use of the application requires an internet connection. The user is responsible for any costs arising from data communications.

The user is responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is correct. Misuse of the service may result in restriction of access to the service and possible liability for damages.

A €10 fee may be charged for a taxi that has been ordered unnecessarily but is not used.

The application may not be used for commercial dispatching activities or for forwarding paid bookings on behalf of third parties.

The service is provided on an “as is” basis. Vaasan Ulataksi Oy is not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from service malfunctions.

Vaasan Ulataksi Oy reserves the right to update these Terms of Use when necessary.

The name of the customer register is the Taksi Vaasa Application Customer Register.

Purpose of Processing Personal Data

Personal data is processed for the following purposes:

  • providing the service
  • managing customer relationships
  • developing the service
  • improving the quality of customer service.

Data Collected

The register may contain:

  • name
  • email address
  • telephone number
  • order history
  • journey information
  • feedback provided by the customer.

Data is collected in connection with the use of the Taksi Vaasa application.

Disclosure of Data

When an order is placed, the information necessary to fulfil the order is transmitted to Vaasan Ulataksi Oy’s dispatch service and to the taxi assigned to the journey, only to the extent necessary for providing the service.

Information may be disclosed to authorities in accordance with applicable legislation.

Marketing

Vaasan Ulataksi Oy may use personal data for direct marketing and market research in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

The customer may at any time prohibit the use of their data for marketing purposes by contacting the data controller.

Data Retention and Protection

Data is processed only by persons who are authorised to do so based on their work duties. Access to the data is controlled through access rights.

As a general rule, data is not transferred outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. However, some of the technical infrastructure used to provide the service may be located outside the EU or EEA, subject to appropriate data protection requirements.

Rights of the Data Subject

You have the right to inspect the personal data concerning you and to request that such data be corrected or deleted in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
